MLM genealogy leads are often years old, having been pulled from the back office of companies that are no longer in operation. This translates into plenty of bad numbers and people yelling, "John doesn't stay here anymore... Stop phoning me!"
In addition, there's a very good chance that the list has been sold many times. Odds are, your "fresh MLM genealogy lead" is approached many times before you actually bought their information.

The Ugly...
Lastly, there's one very important thing to consider. Every name on the list that you purchased there for one purpose and one purpose only: they signed up with, or bought product from, a MLM.
Not one of them called for their name to be put there, neither did they ask to be solicited by you.
This affects you in two ways:
1) Legally, you have to be careful in the way you make contact. Since you don't have their authorization, and their contact number might be on the do not phone call list, you can't use something like voice broadcasting... and you have to be careful with e-mail.
You can contact them one by one, but that's not so useful...
Direct mail is most likely most secure, but some MLM genealogy leads actually come with address data. Most include name, phone, and e-mail if you're fortuitous.
2) It requires more skill to hit your objectives with these leads. If you're going to attend the phone and call them harsh, you better understand exactly what you're going to say and be confident in your delivery.
If not--if they smell fear--you'll be eaten alive!
So there you have it! The good, the bad, and also the ugly on MLM genealogy leads.
You might be right to be aimed towards opportunity purchasers, but don't forget that many MLM genealogy lists are old, outdated and full of bad data. You'll need to be careful how you reach out to them, and when you do actually reach the individual whose name is on your list you will have to handle the conversation properly.
