No Matter how you look at it, Sexually Transmitted Infections(STI's-also commonly called STD's Sexually Transmitted Diseases), are one of the most uncomfortable topics of conversation in the dating world.
Dating Portland Oregon knows that the only way to guarantee you will not get and STI (STD) is to NOT HAVE SEX. So, according to my mother, when I was growing up, I learned that abstinence causes hair to grow on your palms and sleepless nights and for men abstinence meant that their balls will turn blue. As an adolescent I often wondered if that was why people wore gloves and how long the blue color was supposed to last. Needless to say, my questions served as a constant source of laughter for my folks. Sadly, STI's (STD's) are no laughing matter.
If you have any of these classic symptoms, please get a diagnosis from a doctor and seek treatment as soon as possible.
Classic Symptoms of STI's (STD's):
For Women – A discharge from the vagina and/or an Itching around the vagina
For men – A Discharge from the penis
Painful urination during sex
Pain in the pelvic area
For people that have oral sex – Sore Throats
For people who have anal sex – Pain in or around the anus
Chancre sores (painless red sores) on the anus, genital area, throat and/or tongue
On the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet – A scaly rash
Yellow eyes and skin, Dark urine, and loose, light-colored stools
On the genital area – Small blisters that turn into scabs
fever and body aches, swollen glands
Night sweats and weight loss, unusual infections, unexplained fatigue
Around the genital area – Soft, flesh-colored warts
For those of you who are having sex, you can protect yourself with the use of condoms (for all sex – Oral, and anal, both) and also by having sex with a trusted partner who is only having sex with you and no one else who could or might have an STI (STD).
Remember that using a condom will not protect you from open sores and warts or the things not visible to the eye. In other words, being 100 percent safe means that you are not having sex – With anyone.
So, in summary, yes, practice using condoms, female condoms if your male partner will not use condoms.
In the practice of safe sex – less is more – Limit your partners.
Not all STI's (STD's) will be immediately obvious to you – Symptoms and signs may go undetected for weeks and months, so if your partner is being treated then make like a football player and Pass when it comes to having sex with them during the treatment phase of their STI (STD).
If you suspect that you may have contracted an STI (STD), Dating Portland Oregon STRONGLY advises you to get tested!
